The right capacity is the one you will carry
A large bottle reduces refills but becomes heavy and may not fit a cup holder or bag pocket. Measure the intended space and estimate the filled weight. Capacity may matter most at a desk, while size and weight matter more on a walk.
Screw cap, straw or quick-open lid
A screw cap is simple and has few parts. A straw can be convenient on the move but needs thorough cleaning. A quick-open lid works well only when the lock is reliable. Check whether replacement seals and lids are available.
Insulation in real use
Quoted insulation times depend on starting temperature, fill level and how often the bottle is opened. They are most useful for comparing products tested under similar conditions. For hot drinks, confirm that the lid and drinking opening are designed for that purpose.
Cleaning
A wide opening makes brushing and drying easier. Complex lids should come apart as described in the instructions. Confirm which parts are dishwasher safe and avoid leaving sugary or dairy-based drinks in the bottle.
Materials and longevity
Look for clear information about materials that contact the drink. Exterior paint may show wear without affecting function. Replaceable seals and lids often extend useful life more effectively than a delicate decorative finish.
